RC Driving Style
I have been breaking in my savage slowly, I have not had much time. Well As I am on my 4th tank of break in, i go to shut off my mill, and i touch my carb to see if it is warm at all. come to find out it is freezing cold. Like really cold. It was about 75 out today. I ran my truck up to 1/2 and 3/4 throttle most of the tank. it was a really rich mixture. Could this have been something bad, or good. Plus one other thing. I am getting a lot of exhuast in my gas tank, from the pressure tube run off the exhaust. Is this good or bad?

Ok is this the 4.6 savage? Not sure what type carb is on the 4.6 but I know that there ar some carbs out there made of a different material to help the fuel to stay cool. Not too sure if it its made so well that it would be freezing.

As far as the exhaust in the tank, That may be the tank being pressurized from the exhaust . I have seen that before. Some people say to add an additive to reduce this but I just leave it alone.
 
that happens with my brothers savage also. the rest of the motor gets hot and the carb stays cold. i dont know why this happens but the truck works great so i havent really had to worry about it. as long as it works its fine by me.
 
The carb on the HPI S-25 and the new K4.6 both have carbs with the bodies made of composite. The composite is much less affected by the heat of the engine so the carb stays cool. As said, this is to keep the fuel temp down to prvent any from boiling off be for it gets into the engine. To really test the heat of your engine you should use the glow plug area.

Oh, and the exhaust in the tank is completely normal, happens to me all the time.
