can anyone tell me y i have no full power yet as i have a new savage k5.9 engine i have put 9 tanks throw the engine and still will not go in to 2nd gear the temp is 145 can anyone help me

It's too rich. After break-in you have to start tuning it to get the power. Also if the tune is off,it will not rev high enough to get enough speed for the 2nd gear shift to take place.

Start with leaning the HSN in small increments and keep an eye on the temps. Stay under 270*. After you get good top end speed and power you can adjust the LSN if necessary to get crisp off idle acceleration without bogging or hesitation.

i have not touched the hsn or the lsn at the minute it is bogging down on factory settings I'm running on 25% i have put 9 tanks of fuel threw it so it sounds like your way is correct so iam trying it out tomorrow its just that when i had it at the model shop he said put half a galon more fuel threw it and see if that will help it but the temperature is at 145 thanks

If that's as high as the temp has gotten, the engine is probably not even broken in yet. Get it up to 200-220, run it rather easy for 3-4 minutes, shut it off and put it to bottom dead center. Allow it to cool off completely, start it back up, and do it again. There's more details on engine break in at the top of the nitro forum.

mine was doing the same thing, ran a gallon threw it an it acted like it didnt have any power, so i took the carb apart, and found there was o-rings all chewed up in it, i called hpi and had a new one in 5 days, not i havent even tuned it after 4 tanks of fuel, and it does wheelies at will.
