Hello everyone I have a question that I think I know the answer to but I'm asking it anyway. A while back I got bit by the aluminum bug and dont ask me why................... but I am buying aluminum parts to build a custom Savage. My question is will everything fit the 4.6 kit that would fit the Savage 25? I think it will all fit but just thought I would get another opinion. Thanks, Scott.

Yep they are the same thing So your good to go. I just got my 4.6

Oh and by the way welcome to RCNT man

The Savage SS 4.6 is basically a Savage SS, with a bag of hop-ups. And the engine/wheels/tires of course. The kit comes with the origional manual for the SS kit, you use the directions for the hop-ups that come with them. Anything from the .21, .25 RTR, SS, SS 4.6 are all compatable.

I'm halfway through the build on my 4.6 :D. Just ask and Zandor, me or a few other members who have a 4.6 can help you out. Welcome to RCNT.

Hey guys thanks agian..........This hobby rocks and you guys are a big help, I love this site. It's funny, at 34 years old I didnt think I would be playing with RC trucks but I would'nt have it any other way. Thanks again guys.

playing with rc trucks. at 32 i said the same thing. got ripped off on a t-maxx that is a piece of crap. over $200 for an old pro.15 and only got to play with it for about 3 hours total before breaking down for the last time. so pissed i went and spent a grip of cheese for a BRAND SPANKING NEW 4.6. can't wait for all this rain to stop. haven't even broke it in completely yet. ready to start bashing and using this 7 foot pile of sand for some jumps and back yard track.

I started buying aluminum parts for my Savage 3 months before I bought the truck. I have it all built and I am doing the break-in between cold spells. I am also building an e-Savage with all the leftover plastic parts from the first. I was bit hard and I am 36. Why did I wait so long??

My first Savage can be seen on this Thread:

Not to try and rain on anyones parade but, I was going to buy all aluminum upper and lower a-arms etc. untill I talked with a few guys who had done that. I was told to stay away from the aluminum arms due to the issues of bending and breaking. two totally different people told me that they rarely broke the stock a-arms but had broke or bent several sets of the aluminum ones, at a cost of $28-30 a set. They also said it added additional wieght.
Just thought you mike want to think about that 1st. I have a modded out savage with all the heavy duty upgrades, including 4mm TVP's, LST shocks & tires on .75 Maximizers. I'm running a REX R528XRP, 8 port. It has incredible power and speed! I'm running all stock a-arms with no problems.

Yeah the aluminum does add alot of weight.I had aluminum a-arms(upper and lower),up rights,c hubs, bulkheads, and shock towers. It tipped the scales at over 14 pounds.. Never bent or broke anything and I jumped it alot..

I think there is probably a big difference in quality among aluminum parts from diff companies. I have heard both good and bad about aluminum from actual users. Check the grade of auminum before you buy, most reputable manufacturers will state what grade its made of.

I have decided to buy all of my parts from Integy, they seem to be top quality parts. This may sound stupid but my aluminum savage will not be bashed, I know it is crazy to spend that kind of $$ and not use it but I really want to build a sweet looking truck. It's not that I wont use it but not like I will use me Savage 25. As far as the arms go I have broken 3 sets on the front in about 2 months, maybe because of the very cold tempatures here so I will try aluminum and see how they work. Thanks for the advice, I dont think there is a wrong answer here but I love to hear everyone elses experiences.

Wow, I broke 1 suspension arm in one year, its the only one I've ever broken. I don't go easy on it either, I sent it over 10 feet in the air off a jump made of snow and landed on tar about 30 times before an arm broke.

I am new to the sport and like many of you I am 35 years old. I can't believe I waited this long to try it. I am having trouble keeping arms in my new MT 2 SS. The truck is fast and I am a terrible driver at this point. Most of the arms that I broke were from hard nose hits, but I broke one on a 7 or 8 consecutive cartwheels. I have bids in on aluminum arms for front and rear. Let you know if it helps my truck. :hammer:

Hey guys, I'm 43 and my ol' lady is 40. We just got into it last year. Ol' lady likes em as much as I do. Maybe more? Works out good as long as there are 2 cars going. If we just have 1, she won't let me play. :depress:
We have fun though.
Been into the aircraft several years. Didn't fly the first time last year.

Got that right greenwing. It is amazing what we will do to keep peace in the family.
My 'ol lady lets me go anywhere I want as long as I don't go out of the yard. :)
