I was wondering how noticable the shift from 1st gear into seccond is, it seems like the truck is REALLY FAST but I don't hear it shift, everything is set from the factory, i have not played with any of it, I don't want to touch the tranny adjuster unless I have to, IT is one of the few things that scares me on this truck, oh and BTW it pulls hella wheelies I LOVE IT

Try letting it accelerate moderately at about 1/2 throttle. You should be able to hear it shift.

Hi it should be noticeable, If the truuck is going flatout it can change really fast but you should still hear it. On my 4.6 it was changing so early from take off it was already in 2nd gear. And on my friends 4.6 it was changing so late that it stays in 1stgear and woldnt change into second.
The factory settings a very rarely set correcty

ok i think that mine is shifting really early b/c there is hardly any like maybe 1000 rpm's if that difference in the sound and if its rolling just a little it doesn't even shift I am going to look into what the factory specs are and go from there

Is it set at the factory defaults?

I found that the set-screw on mine was set at about 7 turns out, so it was always in 2nd gear. The "factory default" setting is 4.5 turns from all the way in. It sounds like a lot of them are that way...I reset mine and then noticed it shifting pretty close to right.

BTW - you can hold it in the air by the roll-bar and slowly rev it up. You'll feel it jump in you hand when it shifts.
