do you want to build it yourself, If you do I would recommend the savage x ss. the 3.5 is the savage 25 with a smaller motor than the one you would get with the X SS. I used to have the 3.5 motor it ran great, but I went with an f4.6.

A stock savage might not be the greatest racer, but for racing with some friends on your own track would be fine. On hpieurpoe there is a "How to race your savage," or something along those lines. You can't go wrong with a savage but why did you pick the savage 3.5. I have the savage x and my brother has the savage XL, both great trucks. I am not familiar with the 3.5 but again, if you decide to go with an other savage there is no truck that I prefer, I like them equally.

Thanks the only reason i chose the 3.5 is beacause i dont no about u in America but in the England we are having a bad recession and i wanted a savage so I'm going to ask my dad for the cheapest one so then i have more chance of getting one. But i gess all savages are good for bashing like these vids i found on you tube lol:hehe:they have the 25 3.5 and 4.6

In the U.S. there is a relatively bad recession, but it is fixing its self. I haven't had a chance to look at the differences with them but the 3.5 is no longer available through hpi so I am not sure how the part support is. Also, hobby shops are going to carry more replacement parts for the other savages, Although the parts are most likely compatable. Wait for more responses before you decide to get the truck, See what other people have say.

go with the X SS........or look for one on e-bay. find one cheaper there, than one frpm your LHS. parts are pretty much interchangeable.

ok thanks the cheapest i could find one for was £300 which seams steap should i but one used from ebay i allready bough a used mgt and it was really bad had lots of unknown problems.

Unless you are buying it new, ebay is a bad idea for complete cars/trucks. Many of us rc drivers beat on our trucks but the people that don't know how to fix their rig will sell it as "running" when it won't. Also, you aren't sure if they properly broke the truck in or not. There is a savage here in the sale section looks decent, and it's a savage 25.

Looks nice if you ask me, I just don't need another rig at the time or i would be all over that thing.

I definaltly dont want to buy used after what happened last time lol. Are there any faults with the 3.5?

I don't believe so. They did put a 2 speed needle on the carb, and there is nothing wrong with that, just makes it easier to tune. For the 4.6 and the 5.9 They made the drive shafts thicker to accommodate the size of the motor. Looking at it now, I would say go ahead and get it because all they did in the 4.6 was minor details.
