savage 25 wont start HELP!

Hi peeps I'm new to the forum and in need of some help. I'm currently tring to sort out a savage 25for a mate i got it running after a bit of time and was tuning it up all was going well when it was sitting there idling, and as i went to pull off at about a quarter throttle it moved forward about ten feet and all four wheels locked up, it flipped on ro its roof and cut out. When i picked it up and tried to push it forward but all four wheels wer locked i checke the brake all was good, i tried to move th spur gear and it w as jammed would not move either forward or back i put a little force in to it and i clicked and freed but now it doesn't feel right wen i push it back and foreth and somemes the wheels lock any ideas on what it could be? also since it happened i have only been able to start it once and when it did start the wheels turnes but kept locking up randomly then it stalled again and will not start.

Any help will be great please

If u can tell me what happens when you try and start it I can help you but for now I will tell u the most common problem. If u go to pull or toto start the savage and it is slipping of the shaft it is probably your one way herring. They are always breaking in the toto start. I litterally just worked on my dads savage with him a few days ago. We put a new engine on it, got it to run, when it wouldn't start because the toto start broke the forth one way herring ripping the engine of and throughong it in the woods. Two days later we put it back on the truck after we found it, slapped a pull start on there a broke the new engine in. Note that if you put the pull start on there and you can't pull it because of the high compression loosen the glow plug half a turn out. Make sure to tighten it after starting. If the compression doesn't lower a feelable amount that there is some thing wrong with the engine. Make sure the engines pieces are on securely and nothing is stripped. I litterally had this problem with he 25 on my dads savage. Get back to me about what is happaning when u go to start it.

Sorry, didn't see the top. Saw can't run savage and had to tell ajar was on my mind. That sort of thing was happening with my dads savage. U don't have to get back to me.
 
Hi ye i got a new gearbox put it in and had probs starting again the rotostart started missing so stripped it all to check the one way bearing was good pulled the backplate off and found the little pin that catches the plate was worn and the spring behind it was broken so replaced still probs starting so stripped and sealed backplate with gasket seal replaced fuel lines and put back together still probs stsrting then reset carb to factory and thinhs started to improve she was starting not idling then the one way bearing went but I've not seen one go like this before the nut on the outside cracked and seperated completely from the bearing so new one on order will keep u posted.
