In a quick as I really don't want to talk about it....

My son and I went out to run around in the street for a bit. I warmed mine up and handed him the remote to play with while I warm his up. I was cruising around and I started to here him yelling. I saw a car coming down the road, so without really looking I turned right into a tree as I had a gut feeling something was really wrong with my son. At any rate I saw the tree, I didnt think I could swurve around it without clipping a tire (figured it would do more damage then a head on) so I just braked and thought it would just bounce off of it, I hit a small root which threw it into the tree cocked at an angle.

Any rate, the brakes barley stop it. When I ordered the replacement parts, I got a dual disk set I will throw on there.

Ouch! You must have been moving when you nailed the tree lol. Takes a lot to do that to a savage! The dual disks are a huge improvement over stock.

good smash man!! what is the damage report? what parts you gotta replace?

Actually, I was not going that fast. I noticed I lost a screw that holds the main chassis plate to the bulkhead. This I think is what caused the damage. If this screw was in place, it would not have tweaked like it did.

Damage:

both main chassis plates are bent (going to try to straighten them out).

Skid plate has a broken tab (were the metal Lower Plate slides in)

Bulkhead Lower Plate is bent (try to bend back)

Radio tray broke at the screw under the battery compartment.

Both bulkheads will be replaced as the little nubs/tabs that keep the main chassis secure is broke.

Bumper bracket is toast

I found the axles in the grass. Other than that, I have ordered the parts yesterday. I also had to order a rear diff for my savage and a reverse gear. All this was broke in a matter of a few hrs in the same day.

What sucks is both one ways went out at the same time a few weeks before hand. I just had time to fix them prior to the wreck. Needless to say, Towerhobbies had a payment of 174.00 yesterday (204 before the 30.00 off sale) to purchase parts for both savages!

You know, after looking at the savage one more time, I am missing both screws that hold the chassis plates to the bulkheads (joint post). I never had to take these out before. I noticed shortly after I got my savage, I had to put these screws in as I thought they fell out. HPI forgetting to put in all the screws?

"both main chassis plates are bent (going to try to straighten them out)"

i have 2 used good condition tvp's (chasis plates) I'm not going to use

if you want them just pay shipping & there yours if you want

Owch!! If you get the ready to run its good to check all screws, and locktight any metal to metal. Then check them every so often.

i got an extra metal bottom plate, (not sure what its called,) and i think i got a skid plate, the metal plate is new, and the skid is kinda scratched up but not broken.

i also have a set of tvps, (chassis plates) if something happens with retard.

ill check to see what else i have also.

just pay shipping unless you got something you wanna toss in as a traid.

Is your son ok?

My son flipped my truck over and it stalled as he ran towards it. He was yelling for the rotostart...so he says!

Wow guys, my spam filter was catching all the responses. At any rate, I appreciate all offers! You need to keep your spares guys, you may need them in the future. I already purchased the parts above. However, I have on more broken part. The steering cam rod. I didn't notice until I fully disasembled it today. This was the side that broke the radio box.

At any rate, I was able to somewhat straighten out the bottom skid plate brace.
One of the tvps straightend right back out and feels ok (the one with the less damage). The other one, it bent it back enough to put the screws in the radio tray. However, I think I really weakend it was bending really easy.

If one of you guys want to SELL me a good used one (ony need a single), I can pay with paypal. I am not a "taker" so name a price shipped.

BTW, I am in Indianapolis, IN 46241

hbidad thats stand up of you to not want to be a "taker"... but if you stick around this site you will see most of us are givers & takers at one point or another, were kinda like a family & try to help each other when we can ....
best match i can find on ebay is this http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-KFX-700-HPI...ryZ44028QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

soo if you want to pay i figure 1/2 of $8 since you want one =$4,..normal sale price is 1/2 of new value on used rc products so $2 + shipping LOL :)

pm me your adderess & witch side you need (side the pipe is on or the other) & ill get it out to you & let you know what shipping was

EDIT: tell you what.....instead of paying me $2 + shipping...why dont you pay shipping & contribute $5 to rcnt & become a gold member for a month & see the benifets we get?

Yes, that is the attitude I get from visiting (RC family)! I would rather see someone get the parts that really can't afford new if you was just handing them out. By no means I am not rich, but I aint broke!

I need the pipe side. Even though I think they are the same on both sides. you edited...

I am going to do both!

Thanks for the offer but retarded pilot already hooked me up! Save it for the next guy with bad luck!

Thanks again

on the steering part. do you need that? i upgraded to the cam servo saver and have spare regular ones. lmk

I think I have everything here or in the mail. Thanks for all the offers.

As a matter of fact, I am working on my sons first nitro car. Evader ST nitro. I quickly found out that it was not a good choice for my son. I know this may sound bad, but I busted that one up also! I was following a tmaxx over a ramp (board on top of a concrete block), the tmaxx hit the board weird and knocked the board off. I slide into the block. Took out the whole front. The next day is when I said the hell with it and bought him a savage. I have had the part to fix the evader for a few weeks now...but you know how it is with old toys!

I guess I better leave my sons toys alone, eh?

man your on a roll. yea the duratrax stuff isnt made from as strong a material as the savage. but it does have a replacement guarantee
