hi,
me and my brother just got our first nitro trucks. and we just finished our break in and already leaned our engines.

but we noticed that the tmaxx is a bit faster in terms of top speed and acceleration. is it really like that? or i should tune my stock savage 25 more?

is the tmaxx really faster than the savage 25? thnx...:lurk:
 
You need to tune it more... my LHS did a test on these trucks... the Savage 25 is more powerful and gets to the top speed quicker than the T-MAXX 2.5. Plus if you want higher top speed you need to put in that 18T clutch bell that comes with the truck. I believe you are on the factory 15T which will give it more torque but lower top speed.. you have to option of putting the 15T or 18T..
 
Yea the Savage should smoke that T-Maxx! Just remember if you do change the clutch bell that you have to mesh the CB and spur gear correctly otherwise you will have a striped out spur gear in no time! If you want to have a little fun hook a bunge cord to the back bumpers of both trucks and have a little truck pull.........looser buys the beer! LOL
 
thnx. i just changed the clutch bell to 18 tooth. i'm going to try it again on tuesday. it's my only day off. :) :shrug:
 
You should try racing your brother...His T-Maxx can't turn without slowing down to 1mph. First, bet him $200 for a new engine, then race him. No way you can lose!
 
1mph huh....funny, with my maxx stock I could take turns at just about full speed.
