Savage 25 shifting problem

I have a savage 25 that just wont shift into 2nd. I adjusted the shift adjuster counter clockwise maybe a half turn but it still wont. I'm not sure if there is another way to get it to shift. If anyone has some ideas please let me know. Thanks -JK
 
Check your tune, sometimes if the engine is running to rich it's not able to reach the rpm's required for it to shift. If thats not the case you may also want to try returning the shift points back to the stock settings and adjust from there. If all else fails you will have to open up the tranny and inspect the two speed assembly for any damage.

See , already I received new info that was helpful and it's my first day in this forum. I was fattening up my adjustments. Thinking if i gave more fuel , more top end:\.........I am going to lean it out and try it that way. Thanks bud for your info. I will keep you informed on how I made out. Thanks again.:)
 
OK , I actually just bought this truck used. It's been sitting a while. Bought it from my LHS , and he got it running and checked it out. When he started it the radio didnt have batteries so he was throtteling by hand just to rev it. when he was holding it off the ground it was shifting , now even when holding it up , it doesn't shift with the radio , not sure if that makes sense. It was also releasing a whitish sludge from the exaust when i was driving it today for the 1st time. Just trying to give you every ounce of info to get to the bottom of this , thanks for your time......JK
 
Well , I went outside and trial and error. over and over Leaning out little at a time and I finaly got it to shift into 2nd. Thank you for your help.
