Savage 25 or Savage LE?

I am looking at getting my first nitro monster truck and I am trying to decide if the $90.00 price difference is worth it. Let me know what you think and why.

Honestly the new savage x looks very appealing to me. If it came out a month ago I think I might have bought it instead of the 4.6kit since it looks easier to work on. I'm a n00b at nitro though.

hi whats the savage se i have seen the x do you have a link to see it

heres a more direct link to the LE

While I'm at it heres the X

And the 4.6ss (not rtr but still fun to build needs radio eq.)

and the 25

If you don't want to build yourself immediately discard the 4.6

Basically the LE is a hopped up version of the 25. If you were to buy the 25 and then purchase a 3 speed tranny (which the LE has) as an add on it will likely cost $100. Both the LE and the 25 have a 3 shoe clutch. Both have rotostarts, The LE has the cam type servo saver. Also the LE had 4 gear differentials on both front and rear as opposed to the 25 2 gears. Experienced members help me.

Ill just cut and paste

BTW, welcome, Sandjunkie.

Savage, great truck. Has a great engine, no matter which model. I like the LE best. A lot of nice upgrades including the 3 speed, plus the updated mill, although it is not the 4.6. Can always upgrade once you get used to it! :D

Thanks DethRat.

So is the LE worth the extra $90? I have a buddy that has the Savage 25 and he said the stock tires are garbage, so he ended up spending $50 in tires right off the bat too.

Well I won't jump on anything yet I'm still waiting for others to help but from a n00b point of view yes, I'd pay the 90 extra.

I agree with Revo. Id go with the LE. I have a .25, AWESOME truck, but really with I had the 3 speed. Plus the cam saver. I already did the diffs (Just did) and have a pipe. I paid around $90 for them alone thats without the 3 speed.

One more thing. The 25 does come with the cam servo saver and 4 gear diff mod. If it doesn't call HPI and they will give you them.

Other than the three speed, tires, and body color, they're really the same.

Oh, and the LE has the tuned pipe. I'd say probably worth $90 extra, but not if you plan to change it
