i love this truck and how great it bashes, when its tuned. i could tune it perfect one day, hit shifts at right point, full speed and everything is great. The next day, without ANY changes, it runs like crap. same weather, same temp outside , everything THE SAME. yet it starts bogging bad when i give it 1/3thottle, so i lean lean it out some and i get 1/2 throttle , any more leaning or going rich the same numbers of turns and alittle more and i dont get full throttle. am i missing something here ? Again i say i've had this thing running PUUURFECT alot , but have had equal trouble keeping it set.

any advice, besides getting a new motor or new truck. :D

Are you sure you're allowing the engine enough time to reach running temperature before re-tuning it? it may be that when you atart it up the next day, it's not runnign well because it hasn't warmed up yet.

Air filter? Maybe you aren't noticing how dirty it is getting?
Would have to lean it out the more it got stopped up?

The Savage has a large fuel tank and it tends to lean near the end of the tank. If you tune near the end of the tank you will be rich when you fill it up. You can either tune mid tank and make sure you keep it full or install a uniflow mod.

Yea I hate the savage tank. What I do is tune right after it gets up to temp. Then I lean it about a half a turn once I get back to about half tank, and that works pretty well.

tank is always full and warm. somedays it bogs and a few adjustments either way and its fine for the rest of the day. then sometimes , like yesterday, i spent 20mins trying to get it right and nothing. I'll try cleaning air cleaner again.

I've never really noticed any leaning mid tank on my savage.?

mine seems to run around 210 -230 all day long, but then again its a pretty new mill.:)

ya..just found out i had cracked my fuel tank in 2 places..in the top...i noticed cause when it flipped upside down..fuel was everywhere....so that was it.

also I've read people getting the savage to wheelie in stock form...HOW??? i've even taken it too local shop and paid $10 to have the tune. after that it ran great, but no where near wheelie.

Either re-gear, change your suspension setting or change your tire choice. The wheelie factor will be cool for about 5 minutes then you will want to jump it. That is it. I get mine to wheelie all the time in grass and pavement but I have the 3 speed. Try honing ing in on your tuning so you won't pay for it to be done. YOU can learn that on this forum.

well the problem is ...i have 4 other nitros, 2 jatos , a revo and a Kyosho Inferno GT. I think i know how to tune...i even got my new RB 323tm tuned perfect in my revo. The savage tho...its pissing me off. A testement to its durability: i got soo mad i picked it up and spun around and threw it 20ft into a building, then down a hill. nothing broke. Actually everytime it landed on the wheels. RRRGG!!!

Hey man, Savage is pretty tough, ain't it? :hehe:

There was a vid on here a while back..... Some little kid throwing his. Do a search and watch it. See how silly it looks. j/k
I gotta mess with ya.

Just be patient. Gotta be something simple. Look at the bright side. You aren't going out with one car. You'll get it.

make sure the head is on tight... i had problems with my .25 engines heads coming lose, but i htink they fixxed the problem.

I have the 25 and i get mine to wheelie with the hsn set at half a turn from factory settings at half tank.

P.S. I only fill it up to half tank cause of the half tank lean problem!
