I have a 25 and it seems that the brakes suck..... I m new to RC and i didnt know if this is normal with such a heavy truck....I adjusted it and even put a longer piece of fuel line in it(brake pushrod) but it still dosnt stop good....I didnt know if the stock servo wasn't strong enough for it or not Please help.......Thanks

ya i changed my servo and it helped ALOT just a 90oz futaba and just orderd the linkage mod which is said to make it even better!

to others; 90oz s3010 futaba good enough for that? or should change it to a hitec 645mg which is for my steering right now...

I have to say, as much as I love the truck, it does seem that the brakes are weak. I have adjusted and adjusted. The adjustments always seem to help at first, but then I'm back to the long decels. I am contemplating getting one of those disk brake upgrades.

As far as the bigger servo, I guess that could help. I was wondering if the following is a decent deal on servos. I used these guys (Servocity) in the past because they had good deals plus free shipping.

I have a Savage with an XTM 24.7; the brakes did suck whe I first got it. I upgraded to the Hot Bodies brake disc, that seemed to make it a little better. Afterwhich I did the throttle rod mod and that made a world of difference; stops on a dime now. I am still using the stock servo too...here's a picture, its a little dark but you get the idea...

The hot bodies disc helped on my 21 truck, plus it just looks way too cool....

I switched the factory steering servo to be the throttle/brake servo. That helped a lot. Then I put a dual disk brake kit on it with the Hot Bodies steel brake hub. This made a huge difference. I also did the throttle/brake linkage mod. The dual disk kit I am using I ordered off Savage-central.com (the one with kevlar pads and stainless steel disks). I can easily flip the truck over frontwards if I slam on brakes.

Thanks guys,,,,I put a stronger servo and it helped a whole lot...and i looked at the pic of the throttle mod but i dont see what the purpose of this mod is could someone explaine it to me...I dont want to seem dumb thanks

The throttle rod modification actually seems to give you more response on both throttle and brakes, without getting a new servo...

Well if you do the steering servo upgrade you then move the old steering servo to the throttle/brake.
