Savage 21 with go 25 engine help!

Hi I recently brought my first nitro car from my local model shop, it's a used savage 21 with a go 25 engine he said he never sells used trucks but he knew this was a good one because it used to be his, when I first got it it needed a new glow plug so he obvs don't try it, took it back home started after 2-3 pulls had it running round for 2 min then all of a sudden it was like it was struggling to move and over revving then it cut out. The pull cord got jammed in and stuck. Got that sorted and now I struggle to start it when it does start it runs rubbish cuts out after a few min, I tried setting the pins to flush but now it not start up :(any help on what to do or just take it back and buy a new one?
 
hi i would take it back bud n tell him what its done/doing and say its in ur rites to take it back for a free repair or get ur money back if not u will get advice from trading standards and file a complaint agianst him/the shop
 
Just some advice never buy used in this hobby my bud said always expect the engine to be no good when u buy used becuase u never know what they did with it. But good luck with it my advice take the cooling head off real quick and see if the top of the piston is black if it is the engine might pretty much be gone.
 
Thanks for advice I think I'll just take it straight back when he opens again and get the savage x 4.6
 
If they don't sell used, he sold it privately IN THE STORE.
Tell him to tune it and make it run right. If he can't or won't, that's when you go to the owner.
 
Right update , model shops has had it for past week took it to bits and they said there was a loose screw in gearbox so he sorted that and said he tuned it all good, right.... Took it on a field near me first time and everything went great for a few min then all of a sudden it started screaming when pressing full throttle loads of smoke but no power so tried to drive it back to me and it cut out and would not restart, let it cool down got it started again took it up street put break on and it cut out, really pissing me of now :( tried pinch test and it just cuts on with no revs and tryed turning LSN to make rev when pinching but no luck any help please??
