hey guys I'm in the process of fixing up my new used savage

I'm just waiting on skid plates and bumpers and bumper braces to hold the pins in place,

i was looking at the XL chassis and noticed its quite cheap with the extended drive shaft,

could i convert my original 21 savage to a XL ( length not with )

i only want to update the chassis and possibly make it longer if not could i use the savage X chassis ( prefer the XL )

thanks in advanced

To answer your question yes of course you can ! Either the xl or the x are the same just the xl has the longer rear center driveshaft. If you haven't already a nice upgrade and cheap to is the x series ez access diff cases they are so much easier to maintain your diffs , unseeded but very nice to have, can be had cheap over on fleabay!

It sounds stupid but I actually try to keep my old 25 stockish just for nostalgic purposes, even though the diffs suck to remove.

I have been doing the same to my savage 25! Couldn't agree more about it being a Pain loo

thanks guys at the moment I'm in to minds I'm ether

A, convert it to a savage Xl but I'm going to need the XL body shell, ( £30 for the shell )

B, convert the chassis to a savage X ( just to bring it up to date )

C, keep the stock chassis but get the blue and silver flame chassis plates or purple plates

That's is just the start of bringing it up to date. The x chassis will only lower your CG a little.

I will tell you i have had one of the test and HPI Exhibition drivers talk to me about the Savage and he said he preferred the shorter wheelbase of the xl for jumping and stunting. If your using it for bashing.

yeah it will be used for bashing its almost finished now i replaced the roll bar as it was bent out of shape just need to get a shell now

I'm quite surprised how cheap the parts are for the savage think i might keep it for quite some time
