I've searched like mad, and can't seem to find a good concrete answer, so here goes....

Does anyone know what the shift point adjustment for the two speed transmission on a Savage.21 is from the factory? Everywhere I've read is anything from two turns from bottomed out, all the way out to 4.5 turns. The manual doesn't even say!

Also, at what point in the throttle "pull" should the truck shift at? I'd like to set mine to shift at about 2/3rds throttle.

Thanks man - I'll give it a watching (after it downloads). It seems like it's hitting second; I just can't tell. That markallen modded s25 is just flat brutal.

edit; that had the sound I was lookin for, but I'm still looking for a general "from the factory" setting on that screw. I guess I'm just gonna have to take it out to a street somewhere and set it.

You want it to shift towards the top of the power band. It all depends on what engine ya have.

The tranny is shifting at a certain rpm. Different engines will be topping out at different rpm's. Hope that makes sense.

It's got an HPI S25 that was modded by markallen in it. Insane power. It just floors me every time I run it.

At first the shift screw was tightened all the way down, locking the truck in first gear. I backed it out 4 turns, and the truck came alive. Turned in one more turn, and it seems better, but I can't hear it shift. It's probably shifting right away.

I think perhaps turning in about 1/2 turn should put it right in the neighborhood.

I can't afford one of the high-end engines, so I ported my S25. Markallen's site was a lot of help. Really woke up the stock engine. I've got another engine I want to try, but haven't had the time.

The Savage is my favorite ride. Don't have a lot, but after running everything else... I'm like "yeah, that's what I'm talkin' bout!"

I picked up a savage from markallen - the very same one - and so far, it's found several things at high speed. One thing that it's hit was a metal ladder at a high rate of speed. Another was a waste bin from the local garbage company. All I know is, a tmaxx would have shattered with have of the hits.

Braking at any rate of speed and steering just does NOT work, lol.

I'm definately enjoying the daylights out of it. I haven't found a jumping spot yet, but rest assured, this badboys' gettin some air, lol.

I can tell that it's in second gear, because before I adjusted it, it moved at half the speed with a high revv, like the flywheel was loose. I tore it down, checked for loose flywheel, replaced the collet, tightened the slipper, and backed out the shift screw...

Now, it's like watching an 8th scale buggy on muscle builder. It definately has some serious get-up-and-get-gone.
