Went to the track to run today, and in the gravel lot I tuned my car and someone else's. We drove them across the lot to the track and there were 3 guys running on the small jump track, and one on the big track. As I headed to the big track, the failsafe kicked in on mine. As I got closer, it ran again, then stopped about 40 ft away again. I was walking toward it (since I couldn't get it to come back) when I got slammed in the foot by a Kania with a .27 running WOT. It almost knocked me down and hit the bottom of the safety fence where it laid, upside down at a screaming RPM till it threw the rod.
We were on the same crystal but he had AM and I had FM. Just one of those days when no one thought about frequencies. My foot is half the size of a football right now, but nothing's broken. The other guy's A arms and con rod were destroyed.
We BOTH paid a price for not thinking.

The car can be repaired. It's when someone gets hurt that sux.
At our bash site, you have to write your name and freq # on an eraser board. Magc marker)
Even though we all know who's on what frequency.
I hope you feel better.

We discussed a frequency board after the incident. I'm just thankful it was me and not a little kid standing there, since it happened on the grass OFF the track where people would normally be watching. Lesson #2...the smaller track also needs a safety fence. His car, after hitting me, crossed the grass and hit the outside of the safety fence for the big track.

Even if they get that blaze orange plastic construction fencing.
It comes in a roll. Works great for catching a runaway. Even if the fence breaks off the post, it will tangle the car up, and prevent it from going too far.

i feel your pain rolex.it happened to me also.not the frequencie problem but getting run in to.if i was not wearing my work boots it whould have been worse..still was bad it was all black and blue.

Put it up and put ICE on it :doc:

We had the orange construction fence on the big track. It hit the bottom of it full speed, ripped it, got underneath, then went on it's back. That's the reason he couldn't get to it to turn it off. It was on the other side of the fence.
I have ice on my foot now, and seeing more colors than I thought a body could produce. It's the purple that looks the best but it clashes with the browns.
When I took off my shoe and sock at the track I had the thread pattern of my sock stamped into the top of my foot.
I've been hit with a Tmaxx before, but that was high enough to hit above the ankle bone with a big bumper.

same here i had my stock savage run like a mile down the street in traffic and i was cause i little kid playing with a stock electric evader and boy was he having a good time i chased mine with my real truck....luckly no damage...put some ice on that foot and stay off it, take care...hb1111

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. After the first few steps, walking is not a problem. I just can't get it into a shoe yet. I guess I'll show up at the track tomorrow in slippers.....um....and an RCNT thong.

that sucks dude. i think there was soemthin like a flag kinda that goes on top of your antenna from your controller or maybe even the rc, but its like color coded so people know what frequency you have.. anyone heard of it?? well i hope your foot heals soon.
savager

those 1/8th buggies are deadly,I saw a guy get smacked right in the forehead with one this past weekend.he was standing at the starting grid just before a race when one came flying off the super jump and cracked him, lucky for him it didn't hit his eye or nose or he would have been in a world of hurt (at least more so than he was).at the local track they don't let anyone under 16 marshall 1/8th scale races.

I'm very sorry to hear about your foot Rolex. You can always play with your pet frog. It'll take your mind off of the pain. lmao!

Good point, StrechM. LMAO, I didn't think of that.
Finally got my foot into a sneaker with the laces out of it today. Most of the swelling is down, but my foot is still multi colored.
Now, where's that frog.........
I'll have to wait a while, he's entertaining my dog.
