how many of you guys fish in saltwater? went out today and caught some speckled trout at the beach. brought in a 25", 20", 19", and three 17" specks, and as many spanish mackeral you could handle. those things put up the biggest fight i've ever seen. catch a 20" and it's kind of like catching a 3ft. shark w/more fight. i don't know about ya'lls beach, but mine only gets clean when we don't get rain. we have 2 rivers that flows tons of dirty clay water into the gulf every time it rains. today you could stand out neck high in the water and see your feet (very unusual). usually looks like chocolate milk.
just thought i'd add a little bit of change. i know it's not rc related. but those are my 2 favorite hobbies.
 
Eddy won't take me fishing so I've never been saltwater fishing.

Well we fish off of a pier every now and then. But haven't caught anything big. I would like to take a fishing trip and maybe get on a boat and catch some big ones....

I got a really nice pole...IMO...I got it for like 70 bucks with a reel. I think it's nice cuz our other stuff was bought in like 1990.

I did buy my dad a new pole for xmas. Costed 80 bucks. My sister payed half. He hasn't really caught anything with it yet
 
let me tell you there is nothing better.just come to texas i'll show you how it's done.were has eddy been anyway.
 
Well I know in Oklahoma the fishing is really good. I got relatives there and visited them last summer but didn't do any fishing. Probably next year we'll go fishing.
 
yah my home town is manford ok born in tulsa go there every year. fish in ponds at my grandparents house.small mouth bass fight like s trout hit hard and fast.
 
Yeah, I caught about a 13-15" small mouth bass in a local lake and it was one hell of a fight. Fishing is so fun...very relaxing.

It's funny, when I go fishing, it's hard to get me to stop cuz I always have high hopes to catch the big one.
 
it's all about kicking back & havin fun even if you dont catch fish.
 
I Love fishing! Was just out last weekend catching yellow pike in the shallows. I love to hear them bark when you take the hooks out.....

Lake Erie has some really KICKASS smallmouth bass fishing. This time of year and in the fall it is not uncommon to catch 6-8 lb smallies. Talk about a fight!

Then we have steelehead, lake trout, sturgeon, walleye, pike, musky, all your panfish and the smallmouth are fun.
 
We did some surf fishing and deep sea fishing in the gulf last week while I was in Destin. Caught some red and white snapper, and grouper while deep sea fishing. Caught some blue fin and catfish while surf fishing. I stopped surf fishing when a 3' shark swam in front of me while I was realing in a fish :ponder:
 
no need to stop fishing when you see a shark just hit them with your pole thats what i do.have you ever had a shark take a bite of your fish thats on your stringer now that will get you movin .wade fishing the surf you learn to take the fish to the truck as soon as there caught.
 
I fish for Striped Bass I used to use saltwater gear, now I use mid to light freshwater, it's more fun:D On average, the schoolies ( babies) weigh from 5 to 12 pounds, the biggest to date for me was 51 pounds, cought about 10 years ago on a tube and worm, trolling setup, off a boat ofcourse. I haven't fished since last june, so hopfully, this year I can go.
 
i've only caught 1 striped bass in my life and it was in the brazos river when there was alot of fresh water there.can you catch stripers under lights at night over there.thats when i caught mine.
