s-25 temp

hey just bought a temp gun. just wondering what is the temperature the motor is suppose to be at? I've heard that 300 is good but i rather get more responses.

300 is to high, I ran great at 275, I think at 300 the oil in the fuel burns off, providing little to no protection.

actuly the oil won't bun off untill much higher then 300. i used to run my s25 between 275 nd 290with great results.

Sometimes thats just the charactoristic of the engine. Typically if the engine is tuned properly, it wont hurt the engine.

The S-25 manual says it's overheating at temps above 275 at the glow plug.
With Trinity's MHP 20%, my S-25 didn't run good until around 290 - 295, with Traxxas 20% it was 270. Have not tried any other fuels yet. Also it depends on your preference of maximum power or maximum engine life. The hotter temps will shorten the life of the motor. I always tune for maximum performance, so I'll see how long the motor lasts. 1/2 gal. Traxxas and 1 gal. MHP so far and no problems yet.

Maybe this is a good question to ask. What fuel are you using (brand), what blend name, how much nitro content, and how much oil percent is in it?

I never let my savage run over 250 I dont have a stock motor tho i am running the surefire.32 (awesome engine lost of power all around. can't keep front tires on ground even with a 17/49 spur clutch bell combo) annyway i put on a nova head it now runs at betwwen 200 and 220 230 with a certian body i have, the head works awesome looks great too i bought it for $41 on e bay brand new. Try putting a nova head on it!!!!!! i also run trinty monster blend 20%

i run the traxxas 20% and mine will only run good at 260 to 280

i ran my s-25 motor between 220-250. it lasted 11 galons. i used byrons 20% nitro race blend. now i just got a axial .28, i luv it

My s-25 never ran good until it got up to around 270-280.
