josh my friend has the 2.5 t-maxx. it starts fine and idles good but when he starts to drive it, it goes for about 15 seconds then it dies. what is up with his truck?:wtf:

Well have you checked the gas lines? glow plug are ya warming it up or just start and gunning it? some more info here would help us help you

try keeping it running on idle for a while (like 1 minute) then try going. if it still stalls then try adjusting the idle speed valve a little to the left about a mm. thats al i can think of.

I start it, warm it up for about 30 sec then gun it. it still dies after about 15 sec.

I adjusted the lsn and it still died after about 15 sec.

I put the lsn back at stock setting. I adjusted the hsn to be richer. it ran better for half a tank of fuel. than over heated and died.

I left the hsn alone and reajusted the lsn to make it richer.
I started it let it warm up for about 45 seconds then took off it lasted about 3/4 of a tank of fuel then died as I full throtled it.

what is up with my truck

you sure its getting enough fuel Mike? Sounds like its leaning out to me. Also did you check for Air leaks?

Also is it your truck or your friends and if you would be more polite you might get some help...X

no its mine I got it for my b-day and theres blue smoke coming out of the pipe

I agree with X, you might have an airleak.

Assuming you changed the glo plug and defaulted the needles which you mentioned back to factory settings and that had no adverse effects you might have an airleak.

The tell tell signs of an airleak are overheating, flameout under acceleration and erratic behavior while running.

Did you check to see if the carb was loose?

Make sure the glo plug is tight, and the head bolts are snug as well.

thanks it is most likely that because it has all of those problems
