which way should i turn my low speed needle for running in the cold. it is in the stock setting right now and last time i drove it it would run for a short time( 1-2 minutes) it will die, the temp was probably about 32 degrees, but i had a sock over the head. after it would die it would have a super tough time to start and i would have to prime it. any ideas on why it wouldn't start.
 
Do you have a temp guage? The colder it is outside the leaner your motor will run, so you will want to richen it up (turn counterclockwise).

Another thing my REVO was running awsome last night (32' or less out). I have my high speed at 5 and 1/4 turns out. So maybe try that.

I guess it is because how screw is...
Clockwise - tight
Counter clockwise - loose

Go blame the person who invented screw :D
 
thanks guys, i don't have a temp gauge, but tomorrow it is suspossed to be around freezing, so i'll try that setting you gave me akmadmaxx,
 
put a sock over the head as well and still keep the temps in 210-220 range. under 270 does not apply as air temps are not warm. leaning it out to 260-270 when the air temp is cold is way to lean, not enough lubrication will get into engine. should always be trail of blue smoke, that means your getting enough lubrication through engine.

i'm using the sock over the cooling head and with my temp guage i'm 220 with nice trail of blue smoke. i'm actually going to try and get it down to 200-210 since its colder out today (lower temps is rich, which is also more lubrication)
 
You might want to try to start it up in the house or garage where its warmer and then take it outsied but WORK THE THROTTLE!!! don't let the engine load up.
 
thanks guys, and jon2 that is what ihave been normally doing. and if i take my truck somewhere i but it on the passenger side flool and turn the heat on floor. then it always starts nice.
