Alright first off I do not have a temp gun, next purchase.... But when I have it running around the back yard on and off the gas partial throttle stuff like that, runs great. Good fuel set up not to much fuel but def. not lean. But when I take it out on the street for some WOT runs, it progessively runs worse and worse ie. bogin from a start and higher idle and it even sounds different. Thats when I shut it off and let it cool then take it back to the back yard to run it alil more so the piston doesn't lock.... I don't think this is fuel related since I fattened up the airfuel mix and it ran worse and would die easily? Maybe it needs more airflow around the head? But I do know it gets HOT! Refueling it my hand slipped and hit the head for a mil. sec and it left a burn mark on my pinkie lol How can I cool this thing down? Any help would be great! Thanks

Yup I did a search found a couple ideas but looking for some more info on my problem specifically. Also I already have the temp screw driver picked out I want, just have to go to the hobby store. Thanks though

The head is gonna be hot. Ideal temps are in the 260-270 range, so you are gonna get burnt.
When you get your temp gun you will have a better handle on things.

So what temp screw driver do you already have picked out ?
Try running without the body and see what happens.;) Do you have enough air flow holes in your body to help 'cool' the engine ?:D It's all about the air-fuel mixture ! First adjust you HSN and then adjust your LSN.....one at a time, along with the idle screw.:)

Untill you get your temp gun, You can just use a drop of spit. Just a drop!
If it evaporates right away it is to hot.
You want it to sizzle for about 6 to 8 seconds then you will be at a safe temp :D
This should give you a good idea. Untill you get your temp gun and also if you ever forget to take it in the field with you.IMO!

Thanks for the input guys. Also the truck runs great with the body off and no I don't have extra holes in the body.

If it runs great with the body off, and you have no extra holes, it's time to add one to the windshield. That will allow for better air flow under the lid.

Depends on what you want to do. Most guys just cut out half the windshield on the side the engine is on. Or, you can cut out the whole thing. There are a couple guys on here whom have done just that, and added a mesh screen.
