RC Driving Style
Hello, I have a dilemma. My friend gave me a new OS engine but it only comes with a short shaft. I need to mount this engine onto my HPI RS4 belt drive car. Does anyone knows how to mount a short shaft engine onto a HPI RS4 belt driven car? Also my engine has a two speed on it.

And after you tell me that, please explain how to mount this engine onto a HPI RS4 3 shaft driven cas as well.

I am trying to do it without replacing the crank. I want to know how to adapt that engine to the rs4. (The cranks are very expensive)

Well, pretty much the only way to do this is to replace the crank with the longer threaded crank. Thats the only way you can do this, because the way the flywheel/clutch system is set up, it needs the longer crank.

Hi there,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I've owned both the Racer2 and the Nitro3 (both having OS engines btw) and you have 2 options for engine installation on either vehicle....standard length threaded or SG shaft w/ adjustable mounts from WolfPack Radicals. Like posted above, before we can offer you any options, we're going to need to know which OS engine you have...it should say it on the side of the engine block. Good luck

os .18

I Have the os .18 cv-rx engine. The shaft on this engine was cut to fit an T-max. So now this engine has a short shaft. I need to fit this short shaft engine onto my rs4 or my rs4 3.

Hi there,

Sorry, i'm affraid that's not possible....if you can't get any grab off the thread sticking past the flywheel, then you can't install the pilot shaft. No such thing as a re-extension. I would offer you one of mine, but i've got the cv-r version (no pullstart). If you have a bumper box, lmk if you're interested. I've got both the threaded and the sg cranks

(note to admin: I'm not trying to sell/trade before the hundred posts, just trying to help another r/c'er out and on the road...please delete if you still consider this inappropriate)

As everyone has said, it will not work. The options are:

New crank or new engine... take your pic?

thank you

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their responses
