Well now I've got just about every RPM part made for a 2wd pede installed on mine. All that I need is the front slash skid plate and when RPM releases it, I'm going to be picking up their transmision case and motor mount. Next on my list after that is to VXL motor/esc and this thing will no longer be an XL-5!

There were a few things that I didnt see a point in changing out just yet like the body posts and the esc mount which are both made by RPM.

Hope they start making chassis for these things.

I am far from being finished with upgrading this Stampede.

The beauty of RPM is that the parts are super cheap to replace

And RPM is WAY cheaper of an upgrade than aluminum! Here is my maxx fully upgraded with GH and RPM

Just curious, at what winter temperature will plastic parts begin to break on impact? The weather forecast is showing an upcoming temp of -28 Celsius (-18F). I'm not jumping it for now (i can't get enough speed to on the ice anyways). Like i say replacement parts are cheap, but i really dont want to have to go buy parts right now.

I'd say anything below 0° F would be bad for plastic. At that temp, metal starts to become brittle.

Ya i mean I've beefed it up as much as i can with lock nuts, washers and rpm plastic but maybe i should wait until it "warms up" a bit. I dont want to have to replace ALL of the rpm parts that i just bought!

If you're not jumping and just driving around I don't see a problem. As long as you don't crash, I had my bandit out last winter alot the only thing I broke was a shock tower but a hit a concrete support for a light at about half speed.
