RPM Two stage pistons ???

Any of you guys running the RPM two stage pistons in your maxxes? I am rebuilding my Losi/Dynamite shocks, and was considering trying them out. If so which dampening rate (color) piston, and what shock oil weight did you go with? Thanks.

NC, I was unaware that RPM offered springs. OK, I may be DD&B but have not been able to locate them.

I run them and have used all of them. They really do make a difference. The one BIG piece of advice I will give you is this;

If you have to sand them down to fit inside the shock, mount them up to the piston rod first and wrap the FINE sandpaper completely around it. Then, slowly push/pull the piston rod in and out of the sand paper (kind of like a good night with the woman) and keep checking for the fit. If you OVER sand them you will have problems. Its just a patience game. But WELL WORTH IT when done.

Rebound is like no other!

30-50 weight at most.

For the Maxx I went with the heavy plates in the rear, stepped it down 1 in the front. Just keep the fronts one step lower than the rears and you will be fine no matter which you use.

If memory serves me right I used the purple and green.

I use the RR Duel Rate Springs. If you do a search I posted my thoughts on them. They work well but technically I believe they are improperly named.

Alright wise ass, I DID do a search but not for springs, but the RPM two stage PISTONS. I mistyped the heading and even when edited it still shows springs in the title, when it should say pistons. And when I did use the search function nothing of any use came up for the pistons. SOOO I really needed info on the two stage pistons, cmon man, didn't you even read the thread :D

Christian, what is the reasoning for using a different dampening rate from front to rear?

I haven't tried this and I'm guessing it would take a bit of patience...

You can make two-stage pistons by gluing a small rectangle of cellophane (glue one short edge only, please) over one of the holes on the topside of the piston. Works like a reed-type check valve.

On paper it sounds like a great idea.

I sure like derailing threads. :boxing:
Its been a while sense I pissed of another mod.

Did I do a good job?
If not I can try again.

The back end is much heavier than the front end and needs to be a little bit stiffer. I tried the same all the way around and didnt care for the performance. Soooo.....

Hey Ed - call me man!

God, you guys can be the worst sometimes...
