What would you reccomend to check/replace after every gallon or so of fuel, I know to check the diffs and currently have them apart, they seem tight, should I shim them? Do I have to fully clean and re-lube the diffs, and if so what should I clean them with and what kind of diff lube should I use? Thanks in advance.

after a gallon or two i always check my bearings in my CB and knuckles i usually end up replaceing a few. Alos give your shocks a look over

i would go through and try to get any dirt off the truck that i could while i had it apart, using a small paint brush works wonders. go through and tighten any screws and put some loctite on the metal to metal contacts. as far as the diff goes, do u have any side to side movement? if u do u should put a couple of shims in and it never hurts to put some grease in the diff.

later

What do you mean by side to side movement, Is that if (with the diff fully assembled) I hold onto the outside case and slide the driveshaft back and forth?

yes with the diff completely together, if u push or pull on the driveshafts and there is like a wobble, or movement, then u should shim it.

you want a lil bit of movment though because if its too tight it will bind up

Thanks I think I might have to shim it, what kind of oil do you guys use? And how do I check If a bearing has gone bad?

EDIT wait then mabey I dont, It has a little wiggle but not overly much, I think I might let another quarter or half gallon go by.

PS: thanks a ton for the help Maxx Trooper and Domination

Check the fuel filter and air filter for cleanliness. Check all screws for tightness (especially the engine mount screws and anything that works the chassis for rigidity...skid plates, chasis braces, bulkheads, bulkhead braces, shock towers, etc.) Then go through the drive train.

replace the fuel line too, it always gets wear and tear, so if you regularly rplace it, you dont have to wonder if the tuning probs are in teh tubing.

also, check for bent screws and go ahead and replace stripped ones.

take a look at your glow plug, because somtimes i dont realize it when a plug goes bad and i forget that the plug is a possible reason that the motor wont go, so just check on it every now and then

thats all i can think of that hasnt already been said

Add to your list the red friction pegs in the slipper. Way to often these go un checked until its to late. When you take it apart make sure you get 2 sets and fill all the holes and not just every other one like they do from the factory.

For gear lube you can use any good bearing grease. I like the thick red stringy stuff. It seems to cling better than ordinary grease.
