Did not try it when I had the 2.5 but it would reduce the weight slightly.
 
it will only work if you change the one way bearing on the back of the engine to a hex shaped one, the stock one wont fit because it is that weird round shape with the two flat sides. :smart:
 
I have a roto-start on my .21 conversion and it seems to turn the engine over much much faster than anyone ever could with a pullstart. But the battery gets drained real quick turing over my .21. If you would be using it on a smaller engine it should hold its juice for a little longer.
