rotostart 2 broken

I had my 3 day old rotostart shaft break. I got my truck and starter from a hobby shop. It was a wall display but the rest was unopened and not bought and returned by anyone. Is this common to break or did I get a weak shaft. Does anyone know if I call HPI will they send me a new one(they are closed now)?


EDIT: I did call them and they are sending one free of charge. To answer one of your questions my engine was not in fact flooded or anything along those lines. The shaft might have been dropped or might have just had a defect.

If this does happen to anyone just call hpi racing and they should send you one free of cost and they do not require you to send in your old one.

They should send you a new one, never heard of one breaking.

To break a roto shaft, you must have flooded the engine bad. IMO you need to check the engine for damage too, and next time loosen the glow plug until the pinch starts to loosen up, or make sure it isn't flooding.

I've had some rotostart gears inside break some teeth but never a broken shaft. But like Scrogg said, they should send you one. Sorry to hear about your 'break' man, good luck and let us know if anything...
