Today when I was running my Savage, I had to restart it because it had died. When I attempted to start it all the roto-start did was just spin, it didn't seem to be connecting with the crankshaft cause the motor was not turning over. If anyone can offer some suggestions on how to fix it, that would be great.

Well thank you very much for that tip and website link but I have one question, is it supposed to be covered in grease cause when I took off the roto-start plate it was dripping all over the place

That's oil from the fuel. If you remove the bearing and clean it with denatured alcohol, and clean the shaft as well, it should keep working for quite a while before it actually needs replacing. Keep a spare with you.
