Hey guyz, i was workinbg on my engine, and i lost the spring that goes in the backplate, is this bad, do i have to have this. Because to me it seems pointless, i dont understand why that is needed?? I need help soon pleaz, got a race this weekend

well from how u tell it u dont need it...I'm not totally sure, but i think u should be ok. my roto start on my s-25 has never had that happen and my hyper 21 turbo and my wasp 28 are both pull starts... i like the pull starts better if u get a good one. when ever i wanted to drive my savage w/ my s-25 my roto start battery was never charged. if i was u get a good pull start...mine have never broken.

peace,
i hope i was of help...hey i can take appart my roto start and give u the spring. if u are interested in my roto start PM me. i could take it appart to and see if u need it.

Nah, thats cool. Thanx anyways Madmaxx/mark. I will go with what u say, i should be ok. I prefer the roto start because it is easy to start, but it can be harmful to the motor. But i also like the pullstart as well, because u can feel if the truck gets flooded, plus u dont have to deal with batteries. I like each of them equally, so basically i dont really care which one i have on. So i just leave the roto.

Thanx for ur input Madmaxx

oh and whats cool is the savage's come w/ no primer gas tanks (At least mine did). it has never flooded and i have never broke a pull start.
(on my roto starter when i pushed the button it wuld stick, and run for a very long time which is bad for the roto start motor and the engine. i wuld have to unplug it just to get it to stop.)

my roto start some times got stuck and keep on spining. I think i messed mine up i bit because some times it would make a funny noise and the battery would go die quickly
but i got a new engine and it has pull start so i think i will stick with it until it brakes.
