Ok guys I need an explanation on this one.

I recently put the forward conversion kit in my niece's LST. Man what a difference in weight. I have been told this helps because of less rotating mass.

I was going to purchase the titanium spur gear set for it. Man talk about weight. If I add this doesn't this defeat the purpose of rotating mass?

I want to add some hopups to the LST but according to ROAR rules unlimited monster truck weight limit is 13lbs 6oz. The LST comes in at 13lbs. Anyway if anyone can point me the right way on the rotating mass issue.

Do you already have some racing tires? I'm sure that would take a bunch of weight off...

When it comes to gears, wheels, or anything that turns, the heaver it is the more it take to get it going and the more it takes to stop it. Is this good or bad? Depends on what your after.

I remember years ago when I raced boats. Some guy figured out taking a gram of weight out of the rod it was equivalent to like 600lbs of less weight. I am assuming this would be the formula.

I did put 40 series bowties but I added those aluminum 23mm hex(thus adding a little bit of weight) If I add some more hopups I know it is going to be really close.

the hubs won't be generating as much rotating mass as you think do to the fact it is sitting on the center of the rotation.....it's when you are turning stuff like wheels that you see large rotating mass values.....

Its going to depend on the relative weight of the subsystem. A hub wont mater that much in the performance of the wheels but a solid clutch bell or fly wheel compared to lightened units will make a huge difference in the performance of your mill and how it reacts.

I'm a bit confused on you post.
Are you worried about rotating mass or in general the overall weight of your RC?

The FOC removes a lot of weight AND rotating mass from your RC. Thats what makes it such a great upgrade. If your looking to put your RC on a diet there are several places to loose weight.

Titanium gears are very durable, only needed in critical places. And if you want to replace gears the least often.

A titanium spur,I would see as a need for bashers or truck pulling.
