i'm not sure if anyone has asked this before, but here it goes. between the new era and the rc-solutions which is the best buy. the new era cage is welded, and the rc-sol is held together with pins and screws. what is everyone opinion's. thanks in advance for any info.
 
I have never seen the NE one in person so I can't comment on that one. I do however have the RC Solutions one and it is sweet. IMO it looks much better than other on the market and is strong to boot. Just like the ad in the magazine, you could easily stand on the cage and not damage it.

are you lookin for strength or waht cause rc sollution is the best of the best!! but if you dont wanna hack you body get new era cause it will sit under the body but its nowhere near as strong as rc sol. the rc sol. has more strength and impact oriented design where as the new era is for looks and like rock crarling very low impact. rc sol you can jump 10 feet in the air and land diectly on it and it will only scratch the heck out of it. new era on the other hand will offer some protection but you jump it ten ft in the air you would bend somthing pretty easily its more of a on the ground rollover cage NOT HIGH IMPACT like rc sol
 
All you have to do to mount a body with the RC Solutions cage is cut a slot in the bed and rear window. It looks much better if you just cut the rear window an bed out completely though. No big deal.
 
I ordered the CyberMaxx cage and the "Spring-steel" skids. I want my Maxx to be as versatile and tough as possible and I think the RC-Solutions cage is gonna deliver.

Robmob - sweet truck dude. How much do you think that cage slowed down your truck if any?? I'll be running the same Engine and pipe but I love the fact that you can take the cage off with relative ease. It's gonna be SUH-WEET.

Since I never ran the truck with the cage on it before I got the Sirio, I really won't have a good reference. The Sirio and cage were installed at the same time (last weekend).
 
i got a nice lookin cage via ebay. its offbrand i guessbut its got a lifetime warrenty, and it seems pretty sturdy. it was only 35$
its a full cage too
 
Great idea on the full bed cut-out. I was wondering how I would cut the bed in straight lines, without hacking it up.
 
what i want to know is will the cages slow your truck down any, and robmob sweet truck can you get to the eay start with that on and do you have to get sertain bodies for it but I'm goin to get one i saw a good deal on it but just want to know please respond back

It might slow you down a little, because it adds about 8 oz, but I doubt you will notice that. You will definitely notice that you dont break body mounts, fuel tanks and shock towers anymore! And the cage comes with a little bracket for the ez start plug. You can see it in that pic at the back end above the shocks.

I used a cut-off wheel on my dremel to make the intial cuts. Not too difficult to cut in a reasonably straight line. I then cleaned it up and put a radius on the inside corners with the little barrel sander.

Does the rc-solutions cage allow you to use their extended chasis if you ever decided to go with the full cyber maxx conversion, or does that require a different cage from them?
 
Scr2000, no. a cage for a stock chassis will not fit the Cybermaxx extended chassis.

T-M W, any body will fit. A pickup needs to be cut through the bed to clear the cage, but a suburban or grave digger will not. All bodies will need new holes cut for body mount tabs.
 
Will it slow the truck?
Interesting question.
This depends on how you look at it. If the additional 8oz is the issue, it will slow you down due to the additional weight, however if your counting lap times or the time it takes to walk over and turn your truck back onto its wheels, the RC-S cage it a HUGE time saver. I have found that because of the design it will right the truck in a rollover 8 of 10 times. To me this more than compensates for the additional weight.

Just my humble opinion.
