Not to piss anyone of but NO they are not any good. I do have first hand experience with them and trust me, they arent worth it. Everything on them stock sucks, everything! I comped one out for a buddy and it still sucked, they use 380 size motors, not 540's like most 1/10 scale rigs, so they have no power, not even on 3s! Plus with that voltage, it just kills the motors.

If thats all the price range you can spend, go used, get a ax10, losi night or comp crawler or even a losi mini, they are all shafty's, which sucks compared to moa but not compared to the redcat moa.

Yea, so i'm reading... i look at any kind of "bargain" with squinted eyes lol. I'm thinking of the AX10 now... i know these questions have probably been asked 1001 times but i have never had a crawler. NO interest in going to comps but would like something that could hang out of the box. i'll worry about mods as i learn more. i have a bunch of buddies in the jeep club who crawl, and i'm beginning to feel left out with my nitro LOL! :D

is that ax10 scorpion RTC *ONLY* offered in that horrid green? i'm really interested in that one but really hate the lime green bit haha.

yea, i can paint it of course but you'd think they'd at least offer red blue and black too. :P

the rtc comes in green but bodys are easy to change and u might even like the look some of the different crawler bodys anyways an the wheel rings are cheap to change

ax10 is a really nice rig out the box with easy cheap mobs SNG in the man when it comes to crawler

after u crawler a bit with it once u break stuff and see where your weakness parts are u change them out for the color u like there are many colors out there

The ax10 looks pretty cool with a '72 proline body. A buddy I hadn't seen in 15 years loaned it to me for a day last summer. I wasn't interested, but he insisted. I ended up having a ton of fun with it. Climbing around mx jumps, up the sides and such. It was bone stock and ran for close to an hour with a 3000mah nimh.:)

Those would get you going. I've had good luck with Tenergy cells. The 3800 cells perform better than the 4200's in my experience. I get them from allbattery.com. They usually have deals going. 2 for around $35-40 shipped. $55-60 for two bats and a charger. The chargers are simple, 6-10 cell, 1 or 2 amp units. I've used 2 with great success. No problems at all and they seem to peak the batteries perfect. Just takes a little longer then the nicer chargers.

is the run time about the same with those saddle packs?

oh, and what charger would i want?

Run time will be less but it will crawl so much better. Get a couple of them if you can afford it. That charger you linked to would be good. You might put up a wanted to buy add here too for a charger, prolly several guys that switched to lipo still have their old ones to get rid of.

Oh okay, thanks! I noticed there were at least two different kind of connectors and all that, so i wanted to make sure i wasn't spending money on the wrong thing. Dean connectors and other connectors and... hahaha.

ONE last question: Do i have to buy an adapter that fits the battery or batteries with that charger? Amazon suggests it, but i'm not sure what i really need...

Just run deans on everything and you will be a happy clam.

so i have to buy connectors or will that charger be ready to charge the battery packs when it comes?

You will have to change them. The packs come with tamiya's which suck. I'm not sure what the charger comes with, good chance it comes with a tamiya plug too though, which would work but they suck.
