What does everyone thing of the full steel gear set? I just installed it in mine, have not run it yet, but the tranny feels very heavy. I'm not racing, just bashing, but I wanted to know if anyone has used it before and wanna know what they think about it.

its only a necessity if your putting in a bb or there is no use but weight.

+1 for me as well. if you can feel the wieght, your motor will as well. the plastic gear set works very well, with little problems. its probly not a bad setup and it does have its "bling" factor

Matty just had a problem with his. You shouldn't put a steel spur in unless you have a full steel drivetrain since removing the plastic spur removes a weak point. If you recieve a blow that would normally strip the spur, it'll instead destroy your tranny or diffs.

it has its place. just not in any of my vehicles

personally i think a properly set slipper and gear mesh with a plastic spur is all you need.

I spent the money so i installed it. I have stripped 2 plastic spurs, so i purchased a steel spur. I removed the steel spur when I installed the FOC to reduce the rotating mass. Even with the plastic spur, I stripped a gear in the tranny. I re-installed the steel spur when I upgraded to the steel gear set. I ran it for the 1st time yesterday and Didnt notice much change. I have plenty torque with the 15/40 ratio that I am running. My plans are to go with a Picco 26 max or an Axial 28 when the 3.3 wears out. Just planning for the future. I have never had a problem with the diffs so I guess that will be my next upgrade.
