I have been driving a little 96 Dodge Dakota for about 3 years now. Bought it at an action for $2500. 4 wheel drive, regular cab, 150,000 miles. Little truck has let me down one time. (Starter went out.) The paint was never much when I got it. Take it back in the woods and it gets scratched, no problem. (Did piss me off when I ripped the tonneau cover.) Well, I traded.

Hard as hell. After signing the papers, I had to go by my old one. It was like leaving a sad old dog at the animal shelter. Really missing my little truck.

I ended up with a 01 Dakota. 23000 miles. Looks great. The bed isn't even scratched. Just not the same. Can't take this one out in the woods. I don't think the ol' lady is going to let me dog her Bronco either.

Kinda what I'm thinking about for my truck ('98 dodge 1500 quadcab/longbed with 330,000 miles). My dad (who drove it as a commuter for 7 years) wants me to have all the scratches and dents fixed and have it repainted. Well, that is not going to be good, because i wanna offroad it, and we all know that scratches happen. My mom on the other hand, wants to buy a new truck and trade this one in, which is another bad idea, because again, scratches happen, and i dont wanna mess up a new truck. I wanna just keep this thing and lift it and throw some bigger tires/gears on it and just dog it around in the mud.

You'll get over it... After the first or second scratch/dent, its not "so" bad.

Thanks for the reminder..
poop. I need a beer..

My Dad told me to drag a 3/8 log chain across the back as I chucked it in the bed. :)
I took my chain out of the old one and put it in the garage. Think it's going to stay there. Not going to see the woods for a while either. Most of my target practice will be done at the range.

The last vehicle I had financed was in 1986. I think I'm way overdue. I decided if I don't spend it, my in-laws are going to get it!!! Got 3 of them on a check and everytime I turn around they are in my pocket for something. Guys at work asked me if I was going to buy my mother-in-law a truck too.

Just venting a bit. Sorry. Maybe I should have started this in the FFA?

Sorry Ratso, I didn't mean to remind you of that.
Mine has been gone for 5 or 6 years. I don't think you get over it bro.

Sorry.

I was just kidding.
Don't take me too serious.
