i have a nitro stadium truck and after i get it running for a couple of minutes (warm-up) it starts to rev up not loud but it just idles a little high after warm up and i was jux wondering if that was normal or not if not what could be the problem.thanx. :)

Does it rev high enough to engage the clutch?
Do the revs come down after 20 or 30 seconds?
Have you turned down the throttle trim on the Radio and adjusted the idle?

1)yes it revs high enough to engage the clutch
2)no the revs do not come down after 20 or 30 seconds
3)i have messed with the throttle trim and the idle screw and it did help some but when i refuel it and crank it back up it wont start right and then i have to reset the idle screw and trim.I also got all of my needle settings where it runs perfect as in running but sitting there it doesn't seem to do right.

How much fuel has been run through it?
If it's a leaking backplate, the idle will come down slowly.
Check for leaks in the rest of the system.....fuel lines, fuel filter and tank. Also the tank lid seal.
If all of that checks out good, you should seal the carb neck with RTV red silicone.
It sounds like a leak somewhere.

its the idle screw I can't determine if its too lean or too rich (haven't run my nitro's since october) man I feel like an ass. I want to say lean because the it rev's up. What I would do if I were you....take the carb off and use some rtv sealant to seal the carb well, and do the same with the back plate.

Make sure there are no leaks in your fuel lines then try it, if that doesn't help richen your idle screw a little bit.

Help me out guys its been a while!

damn rolex you beat me to it!

i dont know exactly because i bought it off of ebay, i would say i put about 5-10 tanks if not even that much i jux now looked at my fuel tank and it had a crack about 2 inches long but the fuel isnt coming out and all the lines are still in very good shape.i will reseal my carb neck tomorrow. thanx.

That crack is probably your problem. It doesn't have to drip fuel to lose pressure. If you bought it used, you should put on new fuel tubing anyway, and replace the tank. That way you eliminate the problems that were probably the reasons he sold it.
