Thanks for all the info. I guess ill get the Traxxas revo 3.3 for my b-day. Anybody here have any experience or opinions on it. Also, what are some good hop-ups for it.

You can't go wrong with the Revo 3.3. If your going brand new you will more than likely be buying the 5308 model...( which is my favorite) Traxxas has discontinued the 5309 model with reverse. I have 2 5308 models and Lov'em! NOTE: I am currently retired from the racing scene- Back Yard Basher!!! We have a track at the house me and my buddies race on... If your going to race them yeah platinum. There is alot of controversy over the EZ start.. I like it myself, as soon as I can I'll get some picks up of what I did to make my EZ start more durable. What I see alot in discussion is the crappy wires on the EZ start system. I have a Fix...Coming Soon

does the revo platinum edition body fit on the regular revo? i like the looks of it and want to get one of my revo.

ok thanks. do you know if its the same thin plastic body like the stock revo or is it the thick material?

Wow, I should have been on sooner!!:) I own a revo plat so I can give my knowledge. Ok first off there both good sturdy trucks. The revo 3.3 is more of a basher while the revo platinum is a race "truggy"!! The revo platinum is the stock revo 3.3 but with all these upgrades/ what comes with it.

(from the traxxas website)
Sure it's a more expensive truck but to me it's worth it. It cost roughly 700.00 for the truck. If you don't have a radio thats around 40-60.00 for a traxxas one. It cost around 30.00 for a traxxas micro receiver. Bump box can be any weres from 0-140.00 depending on brand. 12v Gell cell and charger 30-40 total. The stuff and price of what I used was:
Revo Plat $700.00
TraxxasMicro Reciever $30.00
Paint $10.00
Traxxas Carbon Fiber wing $20.00
RD Logics Bump box $134.00
Gell cell 20.00
Charger for gell cell 15.00
Total= $819.00 w/o tax
If you don't want to drop this much cash the stock is fine!!! Hope this helped:)
