was runnin my new revo today (about a half gallon through it) and it just quit moving going through a turn. Enngine runs ok but it will not move when you push it . Am i screwed?

The brakes are not locked up, if you push it forward the wheels dont move if you push it backward you get a nasty clicking noise

Sounds like you lost some gears. Tranny comes out and comes apart pretty easily. If you plan to race I'd suggest getting the FOC. It seem the reverse gears are a little weak and when they went, they took out the others. You should be able to get new gears at your LHS, if not check online.

Just start taking it apart, I am on my 3rd set of reverse gears and 1 broken case. To take it apart you:
1. disconnect the linkages and opti-drive.
2. disconnect drive shafts.
3. take out the 4 screws on the bottom of tranny that also hold on the skid.
4. Pull tranny out of truck and take out the screws that hold the 2 halfs together.
5. Identify and replace broken gears.
6. work backward from step 4 to step 1.
7. reset opti-drive

After pulling the tranny from the truck turn the shaft to see if you still have the mentioned syptoms. Before you tear into it.

Looking at the picture you would think that if you open the case that parts would fall out all over but really they are in 3 major clusters, so it really isnt that bad. Good luck!

you can also look on ebay and get a whole new tranny. thats what i did so i would have a spare. so if my tranny goes out again, i will have a spare to drop in and have it back on the road again in a matter of minutes. just keep an eye out for a good deal, mine was like $42 with shipping.

That is a very good idea and many people do that with trannys and diffs. If you break one, just changes them out and rebuild the broken one later. I have almost a whole nother REVO parts truck, for backup parts, its almost a runnable truck.

Thanks for the help guys. Do you think I'd have any luck with Traxxas replacing it. I'm also having problems with my right steering servo,it stops working but when I take it apart & put it back together it works for a while

Traxxas just sent me 3 sets of gears for a trashed T-Maxx tranny I had, no questions asked.

BTW, sounds like you ate a gear, but it is too hard to tell without removing tranmny and seeing if it is driveline or tranny. So far, no tranny problems with my Revo, but I like the idea of buying a new one to have on hand.
