i was just wondering if anyone knew if the t-maxx 3.3 tranny would fit in my 2.5R revo. I'm looking to upgrade my engine sooner or later and i have a friend that has a brand new one but he doesn't know if it would fit. sooo, let me know people! =]

The #.3 tranny will fit in the 2.5 chassis. If you are planning to upgrade to the center diff/rear brake combo, you will need the 3.3 tranny.

am i correct in saying that other then the back half and a couple gears inside the tranny they are the same??

so is it safe to buy it even though it s a t-maxx 3.3 tranny and not a revo 3.3 tranny?

Matt I think the Maxx and Revo trannies are slightly different. My neighbor's Revo only has 4 screws in the tranny versus my Maxx which has 7.

the screws that hold the tranny together or the screws that hold the tranny to the frame?

You can only run the Revo transmission in a Revo. You can run the Revo 3.3 tranny in a Revo 2.5 chassis. The advantage in using the 3.3 tranny in the 2.5 chassis is that it allows you to run the rear brake.
