I am not sure how to put this with out sounding like a real dummie, I started out with a Revo 3.3 and an E-Maxx, within a week added a Savage ( 3 kids=3trucks) I thought I checked that none of the radio's crossed over with each other in the garage, but after last night's performance I think Not.. The Savage and the Revo were ripping around, I hit the button on the E-maxx and ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE.. Apparently the E-Maxx and Savage are on the same Channel.

I would eventually like to change both the Revo and Savage over to FM, but for right now my plans are to put the FM receiver in the Revo, and put either the crystal from the revo in the E-maxx or the whole receiver. I haven't started to take anything apart to see if it will work.

Does anyone know if that is a viable option to swap from one traxxas machine to another? and what Is A good radio to put in the Revo?

You can just do a straight crystal swap on the receivers and transmitters.

What is your budget for an FM setup?

I would like to stay under $200.. I have been looking at Hitec's Aggressor CRX 3ch FM and JR's XR3i 3ch FM. All we do is bash, no racing.

You can actually get a fairly decent 2.4 GHz system for under $200. For about $180 you can get either the Futaba FASST or Airtronics MX-3FHSS systems. Both are VERY good radios and with the 2.4 capabilities you will never have problems with needing extra crystals and will have glitch free performance as well as incredible range wherever you go.

However, if you're just looking to upgrade the radios, nothing special, I'd actually recommend the Futaba systems. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGAG2**&P=7

The JR is kind of expensive for what you get, as it only has 4 model memory. It IS a good system though.
