hey , whats up everybody , i need some advice on hpw to change tires on my truck , i bought some nice response racing tires and i wanted to know if i just have to rip oof the old ones off the rims and glue them on or buy rims for evey tire,

From our very own Beason

I've tried the oven, and boiling them, imo boiling works best. i used my burner for crawfish, tossed them in a pot, and let them boil for a good 20 to 30 min. then pulled them out and used a nut driver to slowly loosen up the bead, (go round and round the wheel like you see them do at a tire shop) and it poped right off. just remember the rubber will be softer from the boiling. if you hit a tough spot toss it back in the water and do the other one.

thanks man , i never thought i would be boiling my truck tires in my life.

Or you could just spring for new rims and then you have two sets of tires.....the boiling method is best.....be patient I tore a good set doing this.....but it was becase I pulled them out of the soup too early and tried to rip the tire off rather than reboil......patience....

patience was lost a long ago.lol i already ripped a tire, lol doesn't matter really is was the stock ones , and now i have the response racing tires

i have since done the oven thing as well. it works just as good or better, i didnt leave them in there long enough the first time. set the oven for about 200 or so and pop them in for about 15 min, then turn it off and let them set for another 10 to 15. the super glue will become brittle and the tires will pop right off. you can use a cooking spoon handle, screwdriver handle, or something to push on them and break the bead.

:::DISCAIMER!!!:::

the tires STINK and will make thw whole house smell, do it when the wifey isnt home!!

also they will be HOT use an oven mit or something but NOT THE WIFES!! it will be dirty and stinky when your done!

right now I'm doind the boilling trick so i will see how that will work for me. as for the wife, well i dont have one , just girlfriend for now, but she will be in the futur.

yup , glueing tires is a bit%$/!!!!!!!!!!!!! I glad i dont have to do this to often . i had a hard time , anybody have any advice or its hard either way to get them perfectly straight.

i will definitively keep that in ind for the next time
scrapping the tires isnt worth it , and plus the guy sold me fast bonding glue so the wheels arent exactly straight will that effect the way they drive or just look wobely

Whoops.......you may have to start over if they are out of center.....you see that will really F**k up you r handleing .....bad....

If they dont roll straight on thier own (as in a straight line on the kitchen floor) you will be in trouble when lash em up and you hit the gas.......just my two cents.

If you're looking to avoid this in the future, you might want to invest in a set of beadlocks. Remove a few screws and replace tires. No boiling and no glue. I just did that on my Revo and I won't go back. :2cents:

thank you so much for telling me about these thing my lhs has one set left and I'm buying them , nobody buys them , but i will . I'm done with glueing
