RC Driving Style
which is better for the dirt. the stock suspension or the long travel. anyone have any suggestions. its my first truck and I'm trying to get it set up right. itll be used for just goofing off in the desert. any info would be appreciated.
 
i run the P2's and they seem to work pretty good for all applications. i personally wouldn't go with the long travel. get some heaver shock oil also, and some stiffer springs
 
Stock set up should not be used for off road at all imo.
 
Jumping??? Or just running around on dirt with a few small jumps. If your not doing big air I would go with P2's on the inner most hole.
 
I had the long travel but it was so soft (even with stiff springs)I couldn't turn with any kind of speed. I only bash and the stock set up works fine for me.

I'm with smaxxin. I use the stock rockers and the heavier springs for all around running. I even use the same set up for racing, just lowered the suspension through the pre-loads.
 
Stock suspension is to soft for even small jumps :shrug:

Have you tried adding some stiffer springs? Mine has been 10+ feet in the air and landed with no problems. It does bottom out but thats what the skidz are for. If you get it stiff enough that it doesn't bottom out it will handle like crap. :2cents:
 
Of course that will help you. That is why I said the "stock " suspension is to soft lol.

I have already added diffrent springs for the front and rear and some stronger weight shock fluid.

I too just got the revo and had the same questions. I was using the stock set up for about a month, racing and mild bashing, and it worked just fine. I adjusted the springs to stiffen the suspension and had no problems jumping or handling the ruff sections. That is until I bought the P2's, and there's a world of difference. I run the orange springs in the front and the gold out back, and can handle just about any condition. But like I said, I used the stock set up for about 2 months and never had a problem.
 
try putting the stock sprigs from the back part of the car to the front part and use the long suspension travel springs from the front to the back. it works good
