My Revo is about a year old should I replace the shocks or is changing the shock oil suffciant? What is a good sign that the shocks need to be replaced or new shock oil needed? when I push my car down it does not spring back up so I'm thinking either the shocks are wore out or I need to replace the shock oil. Whats your thoughts?

I noticed some air leaks on my 2.5 motor so I siliconed them and was just thinking I have prob put 3 or 4 gallons of fuel thru my car and was thinking about going ahead and dropping a 3.3 in her. I have been reading alot of different things about doing this so whats your thoughts on this what all will I have to do? My 2.5 still runs good but a 3.3 would be bad ###. So before I buy the motor what am I up against as far as what else will I have to replace?

You can rebuild them. If you bought it new, you should have different piston plungers, ie. 2 hole or 3 hole, and you can buy new seals for them.
If it's been sitting on its wheels, your springs probably need to be replaced. When the shocks are off, move the suspension up and down, one corner at a time to see if you notice any binding. Replace bearings or lube as necessary.

The shocks are there to control rebound. The shocks should slow the upward rebound when you push the truck down.

If you have a 2.5, the 3.3 will bolt right in with no extra parts needed. Check with your LHS about the Traxxas trade up program. You basically pay discounted price for a new engine and exchange it for your used engine.

Yea I heard about the trade in program does anybody know how much they give you for your old motor? It still runs good but if I can drop a 3.3 in there for 50 or 60 bucks and not have to do a bunch of other stuff I'm game.

trade in program does not care if it runs or not, it dont even have to be put together as long as all the pieces are there,
new 3.3 on trade in is like $110.00 plus tax
