hey guys my revo was working awesome yesterday tuned almost perfect and the shift to second was were I wanted it now today when i went to drive a little bit it shifts almost instantly? please help me I just got it 3 days ago

If it is too rich it will shift alot later or not at all. When you lean it up you will notice the shift point gets closer. For the most part the shift point when tuned right is pretty close to starting out in first. You can adjust the shift point fir later shifting by using a 2mm hex in the hole on top of tranny with the plug in it. Read your manual for instructions on doing so or you could really mess it up.

I guess now that I listened a little closer it's not shifting at all I have my hsn at about 4 turns out

It's not even that rich should I lean it even more?

alright I'm really about to sell this damn thing it is different every time i turn it on now it takes forever to start and it idles so high that the truck takes off like its going half throttle and i have seriously adjusted nothing.

No need to do your nana mate - your prop will be easy to fix. Take a deep breath and work through what may be causing the issues.

Remove the clutch bell on the engine and check to see that the clutch spring is ok - it could be that the clutch spring has broken and is engaging the clutch at idle - this may explain why it is hard to start (as the driveline is engaged when you are trying to start the engine) and it would certainally explain why the vehicle is moving at idle.

If the clutch spring is ok, check your throttle trim to ensure it's not turned up and moving the carb off idle . . . then take off your air filter and have a look down the throat of the carb and check to ensure you have a 1mm gap - throat and slide.

Also - it was suggested that running rich will move the shift point and you should lean down - did you adjust the LSN instead of the HSN? - A lean idle (LSN) may increase the idle speed. Take the LSN to base setting (just proud of the housing - 1 3/4 turns, and the HSN to 3.5 out and work on a tune.

First I hope you followed break in procedure, don't rush it. Zdragon gave you good advise. 4 turns is break in setting, but don't move to much at a time. Small adjustments, run it and look at smoke out the muffler, and listen to the tone of you motor. You will here it shift, if it's too rich shift will be later, leaner sooner. Remember you want to see some smoke out the pipe but not like a crop duster!

Welcome to a traxxas engine my freind. My best option for you is to remove the engine, seal the carb and backplate, and hope for the best. Traxxas engines are know for been extremly hard to maintain a decent tune. The inconsistency in tune you are descibing sounds alot like an air leak to me. Check fuel tank, line, and seal the engine.

Dang...this put the hoodoo on my Revo-haha! Mine didn't shift after the 2nd lap today -Broke clutch spring- and axle popping out of cup...all repaired. To quote Twisted "welcome to Traxxas" remember it's not RTR (Ready to Run)..it's RTT (ready to TUNE) haha welcome to the family!

hahaha I'm learning its my first ever nitro and actually my first ever brand new truck i have had my stampede for a year and bought it from a guy that had it for 3 or something like that haha
