My god these wheels are the most flimsy peices of crap. Is anyone else having trouble with them cracking with very little abuse? Anyone know where I can get some aluminium ones?

its a popular problem, search and you'll see many threads about it. thats why i've got my ramtech-rc aluminum rims on the way :D hehe

We should see if we can get a petition together to send in to Traxxas If we get enough people to complain they might do something. You would think with all the engineering that went into that truck they could have mde those a little better

I've beat on mine pretty good and the only thing I've had happen was the chrome paint flaking off. I have read of several other problems. I have a new set of Hurricanes that I waiting for some Response tires for so I can't compare the two.

What do you consider beating? I have my old stock Tmaxx wheels on the revo right and they are bulletproof

call traxxas, they will say send them in and they will look into replacing them. for me, i didn't see the point, so i'm just gonna ebay the tires and use the new ramtech viper rims when they arrive.

mine broke at the spoke that connects to the hub. i did beat on mine some, no big jumps or anything though, but they do seem like a very weak part.

Driving the truck like it was designed to be driven. I've gone to many constuction sites and abused the hell out of the truck. I even hit a very large fire extinguisher on a wheel cart on our ramp with the right front, sheared the wheel and front suspension right off. No damage to wheel.

Hey, Jetmech, I just picked up a set of Hurricane wheels and the new Traxxas Sportraxx Revo bowtie tires. Hope to test them this weekend if it does not rain. Let you know how it goes. The Hurricane wheels have a little more plastic to them so maybe they are more durable, too.

would anyone be interested in starting a complaint to Traxxas abou these wheels breaking?? Please PM me if so

jetmech, I am all the way down in Irvine area, south of John Wayne Airport (I love that name!) There are several LHS's nearby. If you get to anywhere south of Long Beach there is a Hobby People in Fountain Valley right off the 405 freeway. Best prices around. Also, Gyro R/C in Lake Forest has a good stock and will match prices. Another Hobby People is also down there right across the freeway. No local racing tracks, though.

Prediction is for rain all weekend. No tests of the new Hurricane wheels and Sporttraxx tires. :bored:

Not a bad idea, but leave it to the stock wheels only as I have yet to hear a complaint on the new Hurricane wheels.

I cruise around when I'm in the LA area. I've been to SoCal a few times, it's pretty cool. Once in a while we fly into SNA (John Wayne) and stay in Newport. I've been to the Hobby People right off the 405 heading towards Torrance. Crystal Park is pretty cool too. I'm staying in the Manhattan/Redondo Beach area this time.
