Well after some heavy bashing over the last few months, i've broken a few things and sheered some pertinent screws so I'm gonna totally disassemble everything and replace anything that is broken or looks week. While I'm at it I wanted to replace some driveline parts that I think will help the performance of my Revo with my Sirio .23 in it:
-I'm definitely replacing the plastic spur gear but i don't know which way to go with the gearing. Currently it is stock 38/15. I want a little bit more top end but still have the low end grunt. Should i stay with this combo or try a 38/18 or maybe a 40/16?
-I'm also considering replacing the clutch b/c right now my Revo takes almost 1/2 to 3/4 throttle to start moving so I was thinking a clutch that engages quicker would be better???? This part I need some help with....

Thanks for any help.

Well I liked the 40/16 Robinson Racing combo when I ran my Revos.....really solid.

I also used 1/8 scale three shoe clutches or the M2C clutches as they are infinatly adjustable by changing the spring.

As I recall on the Revo the slipper can effect the ppo to acceleration as well so be sure that is adjusted accordingly....soundslike it was loose.

I would but a Screw Kit From Team Fast Eddy and while you are reassembling it replace all of the screws with stainless....lock tight where appropriate.

Best of luck, I really enjoyed the Revo as a platform...I built 6 or seven from scratch.....nice trucks.

Earlier today RustyBoltz and I were talking and I have a feeling that his 1/2 to 3/4 throttle before the truck starts moving problem sounds like something is slipping, either the slipper clutch isn't adjusted or is burned up or the clutch has glazed over due to it being the stock clutch mated to the big Sirio .23.

Like I said earlier today, I think you should take it apart and go from there. If the clutch shoes are glazed then maybe you should go with an aftermarket clutch or maybe an 1/8th scale like Talon said. If not, then turn your attention to the slipper clutch. It may turn out that it just isn't adjusted tight enough.

Yep Modded is correct....with a Big Boy engine in a Revo you need to harden it forward. I found that I need the harder clutch to tame it and keep the slipper tight.

I wouldn't say that Talon's Revos were modded, after purchasing a roller chassis from him I'd say that they are mutated. I still love them, because my original 3.3 is even more mutated.

Thanks guys for the help.
I had another thought though, while i'm rebuilding my revo should i do any kinds of oiling/greasing and if so with what. And then should I go ahead a rebuild my shocks?

The claim is longer life.I had looked at them once since instal and they did show some where but continue to work fine.

The Works 4 shoe adjustable clutch looks interesting also.

I never had a problem with the stock clutch though either.Just normal wear.
