okay a couple of day ago i started breaking in my 3.3 engine in my revo i got to the 5th tank then the pull start broke so i ordered a new one and a resonator exhaust. i proceede to put the new parts on it started up i have everything on stock settings currently. i started the 5th tank and my engine overheated and stalled it was at 409degrees. i let it cool down and it took awhile to get it started the next time it did the same thing again but this time it's not starting i don't know what the problem is

please help

depending on where you live , stock settings might be to lean ...my 3.3 runs at almost 5 turns out on the HSN..stock is 4 .....did you seal your engine ?? that should be the first thing you do .....also ..did you make a hole in the windshield to give the engine more airflow ?

does it still have good compression ??

i checked everything it all seems good i'vt tried riching it still nothing as in compression what do you mean i'm not sure

everything's sealed good i have the cut in my windsheild. it's a 2.5 but i put 3.3 engine in it and resonator exhaust along with a new pull start cause old one went bad on 5th tank of breaking it in so i'm oin step five i don't know if i should take engine apart and reclean it or what

yepp has a new glow plug burns bright orange i cleaned owb too

engines not flooded either

the only other thing i can think about is if the fuel is getting to the engine ....what fuel are you using ??

other than that , I'm out of ideas ...someone else might pop in with more advice

good luck

traxxas 20% i just went out and it wanted to start put didn't it keeps getting stuck at tdc too i'm just about ready to get rid of the peice

Right now, continue the break in with the fuel you're using. I had nothing but success after switching to Top Fuel for my Traxxas engines.
At 400+ degrees, you'll kill the engine. If you took it out of the car to replace the pull start, you might have put it back with the mesh much too tight.
That or a WAY lean LSN would cause that kind of overheat.

You also need to go back to your stock exhaust till you've run numerous tanks after the complete break in.
This is not the time to be looking for performance. Changes in fuel or exhaust require changes in tuning.

ok so should i reclean engine and start the break in process again since if tried with my new exhaust of should i just switch back to old exhaust and what about the header to it wants to turn over but dont right now with new exhaust

and also what do you mean mesh being to tight

Put it all back to stock, then continue where you left off. 5 tanks is the minimum for basic break in, but you should continue tuning it for more performance for several more tanks.
After you've had about 15 tanks through it you can change the exhaust.
You have to know it ran right BEFORE changing anything from stock.

If the spur is hard to turn by hand, the engine was pressed too hard against it when you tightened it down. That will make the engine work EXTRA hard.

ok i putt it back to stock but it still not starting it wants to turn over but it's not

tried it it keeps getting stuck at tdc so i don't know if that bad or not
it ran before i put the new stuf on and when i have the new stuf on it was running but it just like took took a poo on me when i was doing the 5th tank it gave out after 2 runs or three runs down the street then started up and did the same thing but now won't start not even with the stock exhaust. i'll let you guys know if i do get it running though

if it gets stuck at tdc , maybe the engine is a bit tight ...with my second 3.3 , i had to heat it up with a hair dryer as hot as i could and it would start right away ..i had to do that until i had about a gallon of fuel burnt in it

good luck

It also helps to loosen the glow plug a little to bleed off some compression till it starts.

If it still won't fire, drip a few drops of fuel directly into the carb and try it.
