most guys I know that race Revos ended up going back to the stock shafts....said the Revo has too much travel for a static Shaft (even with the O.S. .18....and they are pretty tough...worlds above the original T-maxx axles anyway....lighter too...

alright well i just wanted to make sure I'm not going to buy something that parts arent going to be easy to find. it sounds like this is a good vehicle for racing though?

Any traxxas is gonna have alot of parts out for it. So no need to worry.

It's a great vehicle. A lot of the parts that are out for a regular Revo will work on the platinum, you just aren't going to need a lot of them because it's got so many features right out of the box.

you could buy a stock RTR revo and upgrade it as needed....isn't the platinum around the 800 dollar mark?

I think it's around the $680 mark. I was going to get a platinum but I decided to go with a new revo rtr, and spend the extra money on hop ups. I took my time and shopped around, ended up getting a brand new revo with FOC, aluminum pushrods, upgraded rocker arms, and a few other things that had a brand new OS 18 TM on it for $300. That's 380 bucks that I can spend on the hop ups and get exactly the ones I want. Of course, now that I have brushless and a gasser, I realize that I can have more power and a better power to weight ratio with brushless, so I've got the new Nvak HV pro system on its way with some LiPo power and a bunch of Tekno RC parts.
