Hello all,

I am looking to upgrade my revo 3.3 (5308) to a big block and I am looking for Ideas on what motor I sould upgrade to. I am looking for a motor that I can drop in with little to no mods to the chassis. I have looked at the os .21 and .18, but I am still looking for the perfect motor. I will be bashing the truck but I also plan on racing now that I have a course near my house. any help would be great and if you recommend a motor please leave a link to where I can get information for that motor.

Thanks :D

OS 18TM is a pretty hot motor for the Revo. If you want supreme power...get the big block mounting kit and pick your favorite big block. I have seen vids of an LRP28 wedged into a Revo and it was a wheelie monster.

lrp .30 is a beast..with the new era big block kit you will own the street .19-34 gear set-up is what i run and it is fast....

revo bob knows everything..i'd listen to him! :) i'm filing those away fro further use...

????. . .i don't know how to take that one man, i'm not gonna say that i know everything but i do know my fair share, i am by no means a guru. But i appreciate the compliment (as long as it was a compliment :)) hopefully it helped

wel lyo uare my go-to Guru from now on :) be prepared on monday to get a fllod of questions after i run mine around!

to help the OP....if you upgrade to the Picco and you get the motor mount - i can see everything will bolt up..will the stock drivetrain hold up to it? or should any mods be done to toughen up the system?

i have the stock drivetrain in mine with a picco and i have had no issues as of yet and i ran it HARD!!!!! and nothing has broken yet with the exception of my primary clutch inside the tranny but that was my own fault so i guess you can't really count that one
if you do decide to do this upgrade make sure you change ur spur gear and clutch bell
17t clutch bell and 36t spur gear will be ur best bet, thats what i run and its awesome, lots of speed and that picco has enough torque to still pull the front wheels when you want it too and it wont do it when you don't want it too

very cool info..i was going to ask about the gearing and what the best idea was....did you upgrade the clutch setup? on a whim when i was ordering parts i ordered an alloy 3 shoe clutch and flywheel upgrade for a future install....

Thanks for all the help I think that I am going to go with the Picco 26 red dot. again thanks for the help.

install it as soon as you get it, the stock 2 shoe clutch in the revo SUCKS imho, the 3 shoe alloy is soooo much better and you will see a drastic difference in performance, MUCH MUCH BETTER
once you go to a 3 shoe alloy, you will never go back to the stocker again and when/if you get another rig, you will want a 3 shoe in that one too

I thought we had that alloy clutch conversation rob ??

Composite three shoe clutch shoes to start, THEN the alloy shoes is what i say. And that is from experience.

lol. . yeah we did have that conversation, and the composite ones work a little different than the alloy, but at any rate a 3 shoe conversion is the best way to go
