I've just bought a revo off ebay and in the middle of stripping ti down to clean and service and wanted to know what lubrication should be in the front and rear diffs and the gearbox and while I'm here whats the best modds to do to it it already has a 3.3 engine fitted to it and last one how can i tell what model my revo as i see there are a few
cheers

Stock revo diffs for model 5308 come filled with SAE 30,000W viscosity silicone oil.
Use only silicone oil in diffs as per Traxxas. No oil is to be put into the transmission unless it contains a center diff like the revo platinum. Then it must be removed and serviced, it contains 100,000W viscosity oil. I dont know about the other models, though. You may be able to search the Traxxas website.

trans lube

No lube in the tranny. They're designed to run dry.

Actually in the exploded views on traxxas.com it says you should put a small dab of automotive wheel bearing grease on the gears. It's nice and thick so you don't have to worry about it getting into your one-way bearing on first gear, which can cause an early 2nd gear regardless of your 2 speed setting. It probably doesn't matter but I use sythetic grease on mine. Same goes for the ring and pinion. Silicone only in your spider gears(diff).
