Revo 2.5 issues

My Revo was working great but for some unknown reason when I put it in forward it crawls, it does get some speed but does not spin tires, the engine revs loud. If I put it in reverse the tires spin and it moves. I can't get it to move fast going forward. Any ideas

Ok I have checked it all...

Pulled the Tranny out checked gears all good....

Could it be the diffs?? how do I tell if the diffs are bad?
 
I am just taking a stab in the dark here but it sounds like it could be the one way clutch in the tranny ? Primary clutch I believe its called.I have gone through a few of these.
 
I took the tranny appart again..

It looks perfect inside.. Forward and reverse are strong when I hold the tranny and turn the slipper clutch..
 
It sounds to me like the problem would be in the tranny somewhere. If it was the diffs, then I would think the results would be similar forwards or backwards, but I'm not an expert, just an addict.
 
if it is like the t maxx there is a small clutch shoe that engages inside if the tranny and the one for the forward side might be worn out or need to be adjusted, just a guess...
 
um.. ok I took the tranny out

when I turn the wheels the opposite turns

if I hold the wheel and lock the drivetrain and turn the free wheel, should the wheel turn or should it lock.. mine turns with ã clicking that's why I think it might be the diff's

I would say if you think it's the diff take it out and check then you will know for sure if it is shot or not , but normaly if you turn one wheel the wheel on the oppiste side turns the opposite direction, and if you hold the wheel on the opposite side the other wheels that are free will turn, it could be your spider gears inside the diff or your ring and pinion gear, but the only way you will know for sure is to take it all appart...
 
Well finally did it... it was the spider gears

now after 2 hours of playing I stripped my spur gear... here we go again..

Whar are the steel Spur gears like>
 
steel spurs are mixed oppinions i dont like them because a 4 dollar spur is much better to replace then a 12 dollar clutch bell

the plastic spurs are fine just get the mesh right and you should be great

I have been running 11 RC's for 6 months and have only stripped one plastic spur gear, and that was because I was jumping and had a horrible crash which caused the motor to shift. If you take the time to properly allign the gear mesh, you shouldn't have one bit of trouble. It's quite easy to learn to line up the gear mesh. If you don't already, you should get a few spurs for backup, and I say keep the plastic spur gear.
 
I've been running my revo at least 2 times a week for the past 3 month or so, and I've never stripped a spur. whenever i take the engine out, or take out the motor mount. i ALWAYS put lock tight on the engine bolts. and then long screw that are for the motor adjustments on the mount. to make sure that a hard hit or vibrations dont make my motor or the mount loose.

and as for the steel spur, if you dont have a Hardened clutch bell. i would advise agents it. what Bob24 said. its alot easier to get a $4 spur than a $12 CB
